The Institute of Accredited Business Consultants NZ Inc (IABC) - www.iabc.org.nz - is an internationally certified organisation with the authority to assess, examine and certify the professional skills and competencies of business consultants nationally and internationally. IABC's mission is to raise the bar of business consultancy and advice available to all businesses.

IABC certification is a start to giving businesses the comfort that consultants and advisors have been through a rigorous assessment process. However just as legislation has impacted on a range of other industries and professions, the time will come when competence assessment to an agreed international standard for all business consultants will become a legal requirement. This is good news for businesses as they will know that they will be getting competent and appropriate help and advice. This is also good news for consultants and advisors as they will be part of a profession that not only has to demonstrate the highest levels of competence but will be committed to regular and on-going continuous professional development.
