Business NZ is committed to New Zealand's success by promoting sustainable growth through free enterprise. Business NZ represents 14,500 member companies through regional EMA organisations as well as 76,000 employers through national industry organizations. As a result of the membership base and internal policy expertise Business NZ is well placed to understand the drivers behind business issues.
Through the regional organisations Business NZ provides assistance with critical business concerns including employment agreements, occupational health and safety and industrial relations. Their Sustainable Business Forum inspires a business-centric platform for sustainable business leadership.
Economic Development Agencies New Zealand (EDANZ) supports, coordinates and advocates for economic development agencies (EDAs) throughout New Zealand. EDAs work with their local authorities to deliver programmes in the regions.
In partnership with local and central government, EDANZ taps into a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise in the economic development field, helping to further New Zealand’s economic performance. EDANZ also works with groups that support economic development in different ways. As well as providing a council member for Capability NZ, EDANZ partners with the Chambers of Commerce to run the BIZ Info service, and with Deloitte in operating the Escalator programme for businesses wanting to attract capital investment.
The New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation (NZBEF) assists New Zealand organisations to improve their performance and capabilities by providing best practice business frameworks. NZBEF also offers support, training, assessment services, access to Award programmes and networking with like-minded organisations.
NZBEF administers the New Zealand Business Excellence Awards and New Zealand Business Achievement Awards which recognise this country’s top performing organisations. Entrants are provided mentoring and benchmarked with organisations nationally and internationally.

Understanding business needs and the most appropriate communications channels is a real strength.
In many parts of the country the Chambers have also been active in providing the Enterprise Training Programme (ETP) under contract to NZTE. ETP provides targeted management up-skilling for the owners and operators of small and medium enterprises to help them develop and grow their businesses.
